DIY RPCube

Here's an interesting an informative link on how to make your own RPCube, a little device which will allow a shoe-mount flash capable of variable power to be controlled via the RadioPoppers wireless flash controllers (non-photographers are hearing blah blah blah right about now).



There are more pictures of the wiring for this on this other website as well as some other tutorials, notably one which shows how to add a potentiometer to a non-adjustable flash, allowing infinite adjustment of it's light output through the entire range. Cool, huh?!

Recipes to try!

I'm constantly browsing the web and finding fabulous recipes I want to try, but then losing the link to them and not remembering where they are! So I'm creating this post as a virtual repository of recipes that I would like to try, and I'll continue to add to it as I go.

Let start with the one, a recipe for cocktail meatballs made with Panang curry paste which also have a cool dipping sauce. Yum! Panang Cocktail Meatballs from the very cool foodie blog Blazing Hot Wok. And, WOW! These people take the most amazing food pictures!

More Photoshopping tutorials - Grungy Border

Here's a nifty way to apply a grungy or sloppy border quickly and easily in Photoshop. More baby steps. I like baby steps.

Here's my first attempt. This was just a quick and dirty attempt to learn something. Amazing really, it only took about a minute or two to do. I need to figure out how to make the background transparent rather than white... Photoshop is incredibly powerful, which in practical terms to me means I have A LOT to learn!

The Pioneer Woman can Photoshop!

I stumbled across this blog while looking for Photoshop actions. There is a great post detailing the steps she took in Photoshop to tweak and already cool photo to very, very cool photo status. I love looking at tutorials like this because it breaks it all down into very simple, easy to follow steps! As a Photoshop Noob, I need the baby steps.
